Honolulu, Hawaii: Hawaii-based Tiki Technologies Corp. announced that its anti-spam/anti-virus service called "Scora" is included in a national round of competitive testing by Infoworld Magazine.
Available commercially since April 2004, Scora developers are pleased that the service is attracting attention from mainland business publications.
Chief Technical Officer Clifton Royston said: "Hawaii has a history of software innovation that's sometimes overlooked. A product that responds to a critical business need at a fair price is always in demand, no matter where it's developed. Spam is a huge problem and Scora gives organizations the control they need to respond to it effectively. We designed Scora to filter email as aggressively or lightly as needed, while protecting against lost or misrouted email. We listen to our customers and have continually improved Scora to the point where we can confidently turn it over to competitive testing." CTO Royston is a featured speaker at the inaugural Pacific Open Source Software Conference.
"We like to say that Scora is "coded with Aloha in Hawaii."" said Tiki Technologies President Yuka Nagashima. "Interest from a respected national publication like InfoWorld is great for us, and it's also great for Hawaii's lively high technology and software development sectors. Tech diversification, especially software development, is a big plus for Hawaii. Unlike manufacturing chips or other hardware, software can easily overcome distribution drawbacks. We're happy that testing is underway, the article is expected to run later this year."
